Natie Smells of Pickles

this will never NOT be hilarious.

so, whooo-oooo do you love?

a friend today reminded me of something important: there is absolutely NO corporate loyalty. none. you want to make yourself think so. it would be nice to think that employer you care about cares about you. but they don’t. if they can make a clear spike in their bottom line by getting rid of you, they will. period.

you’ll find some news stories that try to convince you otherwise - that the machine cares for you, it’s taken care of people in the past - but they are NOT the rule, they are the exception. and the next time you make the decision to try to benefit the company instead of benefiting your family, to try to forward the company line when you could be building more of a relationship with your children, choose your blood. the company will choose ITs blood EVERY SINGLE TIME. profit. the reason capitalism is still so strong here after all these years is because the machine chooses ITs blood every time. profit. not family, not relationships, not duty or honor or love, but profit.

it’s important we remember this as the machine keeps rolling along, doing what it does. when profit is the number one priority, your well-being cannot be. the machine does not love you, and it’s important that we make sure to not love the machine.

it’s working

Dear God,

It sucks you were imagined up by shortsighted ignorant bronze age goat herds who needed a way to cope with their inadequacies and keep their women in check. It sucks you were brought into being by people who needed you as an excuse to kill all their neighbors. It sucks bad that as the thoughts that birthed you were swirling in developing simian brains, the world was a crappy place. It’s not fair you were born to judge a people, a creation, a family. It sucks, but it’s true. You were created to be a judge, an excuse for horrible things, a vengeance. And I can’t forgive you for that. You have to go.

I’m not that smart so it’s taken me a while, but I’m starting to get it:

  • When the downtrodden heroes of capitalism who work at a bailed-out financial institution are asked to reduce the size of their bonuses, the contract is sacrosanct (“the American International Group is contractually…
